The Dangers of Too Many Prophetic Words - A Lamp Unto My Feet LIVE
With the election looming, unrest in the Middle East, weather disasters, and rising inflation, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. We live in a time where uncertainty is at every corner, and the future can seem daunting. Anxiety and fear about what tomorrow holds can weigh heavy on our hearts. Yet, in the middle of all this turmoil, there is one truth that stands firm: *God never changes.* In Hebrews 13:8, we are reminded, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” While the world around us shifts and sways—whether it’s political instability, global conflict, or natural disasters—God remains our steadfast anchor. He is our constant hope, unshaken by the storms of life. Psalm 42:11: Hope in God During Uncertain Times Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. In times like these, it’s natural for our souls to feel heavy. Have you ever felt the weight of anxiety, unsure of what’s coming next? Psalm 42:11 captures this feeling perfectly: *"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?"* It’s as if the psalmist is wrestling with the same uncertainties we face today. But the turning point comes when the psalmist speaks to their own heart: *“Hope thou in God.”* Even in the midst of global unrest, political tension, and personal fears, we are called to fix our eyes on God. He is our unchanging refuge. The psalmist goes on to declare, *“I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”* In other words, even in the most difficult of times, we can still trust in God’s goodness and praise Him for being our source of strength and peace. Faithfulness in Uncertainty: 2 Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. In moments of global or personal crisis, it can be easy to question where God is in the midst of our struggles. But 2 Timothy 2:13 offers a profound promise: “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” Even when our faith falters under the weight of uncertainty—whether it’s the tension of a looming election or the anxieties of financial instability—God remains faithful. His faithfulness is not dependent on us or the state of the world around us. Political unrest may stir nations, but it cannot shake God’s commitment to His people. Weather disasters may disrupt our lives, but they cannot alter His unwavering love for us. Even in the most turbulent of times, God remains constant. His very nature is faithfulness, and He will not deny who He is. Psalm 62:5-6: Finding Stability in God 5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In times of uncertainty, it’s natural for us to seek stability in what we can see and control. But Psalm 62:5-6 reminds us that true security comes from God alone: *“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved.”* Elections will come and go, financial markets may rise and fall, and the world may face more disasters. But God remains our unshakable rock. When we anchor our hope in Him, we cannot be moved by the chaos around us. He is our salvation—the One who rescues us from the turmoil of this world. And He is our defense—our protector and shield in times of trouble. When inflation rises or the news stirs fear, remember: *“He only is my rock.”* No matter what happens, God is our constant. We can stand firm, knowing that He will never fail us. Ultimately, in these challenging times, we need to remember that our hope isn’t in earthly leaders, economic stability, or human solutions. Our hope is in the One who never changes—God. While elections will determine the future of nations, unrest may shake the world, and disasters may come, God’s plans are still unfolding. His love and faithfulness are our steady guide through all of life’s uncertainties. As Psalm 147:11 tells us, “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.” Our hope is not in temporary things but in the mercy of a God who is always with us, no matter the circumstances.
